Michael V. Wyland

Michael V. Wyland, 60, rural Williamsburg, passed away early Thursday morning at UPMC Altoona after a brief illness.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late William V. “Lumpie” and Patricia J. “Patty” (Guerin) Wyland. On May 22, 1982 he married Tammy J. Johnson in Roaring Spring.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 36 years, Tammy; four brothers: Glen R. (Carol Ginter), Dale R. (Alice), Mark W. (Rose Merritts) and Jay S. all of Williamsburg; two nieces: Jennifer Kolbfliesch of Hagerstown, MD and Stephanie Wyland in Colorado; and several great nieces and nephews, whom he dearly loved.
Mike was a 1975 graduate of Williamsburg High School and received his associate degree in drafting from Ryder Technical Institute, Allentown.
During high school, he worked at Leidy’s Greenhouse in rural Williamsburg. After receiving his degree, Mike worked as a draftsman at Altoona Pipe and Steel and for the past 15 years was employed in the shipping department for Cenveo, Williamsburg.
Mike enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, gardening and raising beagles. He also built their home in rural Williamsburg with the help of his brothers.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg.
The family prefers memorial contributions in memory of Mike be given to Mending Hearts Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 97, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
