            Melissa A. Kifer, 50, rural Williamsburg, went home to be with The Lord, Tuesday morning at her home following a courageous battle with cancer.

            She was born in Altoona, the daughter of Betty C. (Bilka) Kifer and the late Roy E. Kifer.

            Surviving are her mother of Williamsburg; a daughter, Serena A. Kifer (Lynn Bloom) of Williamsburg; a son, Joshua D. Kifer (wife, Tabitha S.) of East Freedom; 5 grandchildren that she dearly loved and dedicated her life to: Kaelyn, Mecenzie, and Aeriahna Calderwood and Kamden “Donte” Kifer and Elijah Bloom; and three brothers: Roy S. (Tina) of Sunbury, Thomas S. (Judy) of Altoona, and Robert W. of Williamsburg.

            Melissa was a 1985 graduate of Altoona High School, and received an associated degree from the Altoona School of Commerce in medical office administration/medical secretary.

            She was a managed care coordinator for many years at various health facilities including: Mercy Hospital, Altoona, Blair Medical Associates, Hollidaysburg, Primary Care Physicians, Altoona, and the Altoona Cardiology Associates.

            Melissa loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and also enjoyed playing and watching softball, camping and watching her Pittsburgh Steelers.

             A public graveside service will be held at 1pm, Friday, March 2, 2018 at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona, Pastors Roy S. Kifer and Thomas S. Kifer officiating.

            The family suggest contributions be given to John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., 424 W. Second St., Williamsburg, PA 16693 to assist with final expenses.

            Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg.
