Maria A. Soccio, 84, Williamsburg formerly of Browns Mills, NJ, passed away at her residence following a lengthy battle with cancer.

She was born in Freising, Germany, daughter of the late Thomas and Antonia (Hottenrott) Holzinger.  On August 18, 1973 she married Andrew L. Soccio in New Egypt, NJ.

Surviving are her beloved husband of 44 years; two sons: Thomas M. Marabillas of Bradley, WV and James A. (Philene) Marabillas of Browns Mills, NJ; a daughter, Patricia A. Brown of Marlton, NJ; three step-daughters: Laurie (John) Cavan, Mary Ann Soccio and Julie Soccio; six grandchildren: Henry Brown IV, Angela and Carly Brown, Alena Smith, Thomas and Katie Marabillas; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Alfred Holzinger.

Maria completed her high school education in Freising, Germany, where she also began her longtime career, interning as a banker’s apprentice.  She was then employed for more than 30 years at the Farmers & Mechanics Bank in New Jersey (formerly the Bank of Mid-Jersey), where she retired in 1995 as the Assistant Vice President.

She attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Williamsburg and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  Maria also loved animals (especially her cats), bowling, playing cards and the slot machines at Rocky Gap and Atlantic City.

Throughout her life, Maria was a courageous, warm and loving woman.  A beautiful smile and a great sense of humor, she was loved by all that knew her and will be dearly missed.
