Lester Duane Ritchey

January 19, 1938     September 9, 2018

     L. Duane Ritchey, 80 resident of Homewood at Martinsburg, formerly of Saxton, passed away Sunday morning, September 9, 2018 at the home.

     He was born in Finleyville, Bedford County, son of the late Harry Emery and Helen Beatrice (Aller) Ritchey.  On March 1, 1958 he married Zola Mae Lodge in Cumberland, MD and she preceded him in death on February 18, 2002.

     Surviving are a son, Bob Ritchey (wife, Barb) of Willoughby, OH; a daughter, Tammy Bridenbaugh (husband, Roger) of Hoschton, GA; four grandchildren; Eric Bridenbaugh, Dr. Pamela Fitts, Laura Sweeney and Phil Ritchey; three great-grandchildren: Noah and Jocelyn Bridenbaugh and Felix Fitts; four sisters: Lois Smith (husband, Warren), Doris Rourke (husband, Homer), Judy Glass (husband, Rocky) and Patty Richards (husband, Glenn); and two brothers: Fred Ritchey (wife, Joyce) and Randy Ritchey (wife, Yolanda).

     He was preceded in death by a brother, Junior Ritchey.

     Duane was a 1955 graduate of Saxton Liberty High School and later served in the Army National Guard and Army Reserves.

     He loved his pet dogs and also enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially his trips to Canada.

     A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

     The family prefers memorial contributions in memory of Duane by given to Mending Hearts Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 97, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
