Janet K. Mains

Janet Karen Mains, 69, a resident of the Phoebe Home Allentown, formerly of Altoona and Williamsburg, passed away Saturday afternoon at the home.
She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Keller E. and Violet G. (Rabenstein) Evans and was previously married to David J. Mains of Altoona.
Surviving are two sons: Robert K. “Bert” (wife, Karin) of Brooklyn, NY and Phillip S. of St. Petersburg, FL; three grandchildren: Tyler, Alyssa, and Don Mains; a sister, Debbie Metzker of Martinsburg; and three brothers: John K. of Summerhill, Larry E. of La Belle and David of Phoenix, AZ.
Janet was a 1967 graduate of Williamsburg High School and a former member of Williamsburg United Methodist Church and Garden Heights United Methodist Church.
She retired from Sam’s Club, Altoona with 18 years of service and had also worked as an assistant manager at the former Gee Bee Department Store, Altoona. Following a diagnosis of Early-Onset Alzheimer's disease, Janet moved to Allentown to receive care and be closer to her son.
Janet loved spending time with her family and also enjoyed sewing, reading and baking.
Friends will be received from 12:30 until 2:00 pm with a memorial service to follow, Thursday, April 19, 2018 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg, Pastor Heather A. Wurst officiating. Interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
