Janet Louise Greenleaf

Janet Louise Greenleaf, 78, Martinsburg, went home to be with The Lord, unexpectedly Wednesday evening, October 31, 2018, at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring.
She was born in Greenfield Township, rural Claysburg, a daughter of the late Solon A. and Izola P. (Zeth) Hoover.
On September 3, 1960, she married Donald C. Greenleaf in Winchester, VA.
Surviving are her beloved husband of 58 years; three children: Lou Ann Kensinger (husband, Michael) and Michael A. Greenleaf, both of Martinsburg, and Terry E. Greenleaf (wife, Karen) of Elizabethtown; eight grandchildren: Melissa Kensinger, Ryan Kensinger, Brok Greenleaf (Jenna), Brody Greenleaf, Britni Greenleaf, Russell Livering (Tiffany), Adam Livering (Jennifer) and Lucille St Amand (Sean); and four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a sister, Regina Boland and a brother, Herbert Hoover.
Janet was a 1958 graduate of the Greenfield-Kimmel High School. She retired from the food service department at the Martinsburg Elementary School and had previously worked as a waitress at Teeter’s Hotel, Martinsburg, and as an operator for the United Telephone Company, Roaring Spring.
Janet was raised in the Leamersville Grace Brethren Church and was currently a member of the Martinsburg Memorial Church of the Brethren, where she helped prepare many meals for various occasions and also assisted in the church nursery.
She was a charter member and served as one of the first officers for the Martinsburg Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, and was also a member of the Junior Women’s Club, Roaring Spring.
Janet loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 pm, Friday, November 2, 2018, at Martinsburg Memorial Church of the Brethren and from 10 until the 11 am, funeral service, Saturday, November 3, 2018, at the church, Pastor Chris Garretson officiating.
Private interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
The family prefers memorial contributions be given to the Martinsburg Memorial Church of the Brethren, 210 N. Wall St., Martinsburg or the Martinsburg Community Library, 211 S. Walnut St., Martinsburg, PA 16662.
