Harold A. Longenecker

                Harold A. Longenecker, 69, rural Williamsburg, went home to be with his Lord Sunday morning at Homewood at Martinsburg following complications from a farming accident.

                He was born in Clappertown on the family farm, son of the late Lester M. and S. Naomi (Guyer) Longenecker.  On June 24, 1967, he married Linda M. Kennedy at the Williamsburg United Methodist Church.

                Surviving are his beloved wife of 50 years; 4 daughters: Jody A. (Denny) Kensinger of rural Williamsburg, Kristin S. (Joseph) Diehl  of McVeytown, Cathy J. (Dave) Mock of rural Williamsburg, and Paula I. (Mike) Burket of rural Martinsburg;  a son,  H. Adam (Diana) Longenecker  of rural Williamsburg; 14 grandchildren: Robbie (Shaina), Stacey, Colton, Lauren and Lindsey Kensinger, Hannah, Naomi, Sarah and Zachary Diehl, Eliza and Dayne Mock, MiKayla Burket, and H. Austin and Landon Longenecker; 5 sisters: Ruth Morgan, Mildred Keagy, Dorothy McCall, LaDonna Biddle, and Emily Grannas; and 4 brothers: Marlin, R. Max, W. Dale, and Harry Longenecker.

                He was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Kenneth Burket, and a sister, Martha McIntyre.

                Harold was a 1966 graduate of Central High School, Martinsburg where he served as president of the FFA. He was a third generation dairy farmer at the 100 year family owned Sparkling Springs Farm in Clappertown, rural Williamsburg.

                He was a member of Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church where he attended the Berachah Sunday School Class and served as a deacon and elder.  Harold was also a member of the Gideon’s International Bible Ministry, Friends of Massey Inc. (tractor club), Southern Cove Power Reunion, Pennsylvania Farm Bureau and attended The Altoona Bible Institute.

                Harold loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and also enjoyed collecting and restoring tractors, and supporting the local 4H clubs.

                Friends will be received from 1-3 pm and 5-8 pm, Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church and from 10 until the 11 am service, Friday October 6, 2017, at the church, Pastors James S. Laird Sr., and J. Brant Leidy officiating.  Interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.

                In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Harold may be given to Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church or Gideon’s International Bible Ministry, C/O the church, 300 S. Mulberry St., Martinsburg, PA 16662.
