Gerald K. Frederick

Gerald K. Frederick, 83, rural Martinsburg, passed away Saturday morning, November 17, 2018 at Homewood at Martinsburg.
He was born in Curwensville, son of the late Rev. A. Emmert and A. Grace (Kensinger) Frederick. On October 23, 1955 he married Beverly J. Butler at the Smithfield Church of the Brethren, rural Martinsburg. She preceded him in death on September 21, 2018.
Surviving are two sons: David L. Frederick (wife, Kimberly) of rural Martinsburg and Mark E. Frederick (wife, Carla J.) of rural Roaring Spring; a daughter, Carol S. Frederick of Laurel, DE; four grandsons: Adam S., Aaron E., Paul G., and Mark A. Frederick; a granddaughter, Melissa G. Morningstar; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Ruth Clapper of Duncansville and Lois Wentz of Woodbury.
Gerald was a 1953 graduate of Morrisons Cove High School, Martinsburg and also played the clarinet in the F.F.A Blue Band.
He was a longtime member of Smithfield Church of the Brethren where he served for many years as church chorister. Gerald owned and operated a dairy farm for many years in rural Martinsburg. His true love was farming but he also enjoyed hunting and music.
Friends will be received from 10:30 am until the noon funeral service, Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Bice Memorial Chapel at Homewood at Martinsburg, Rev. Jerry McCuller Jr. and Pastor Ronald Page officiating. Private interment will be held at Holsinger Cemetery, rural Roaring Spring.
