     Gerald R. Albright, 78, of Roaring Spring, passed away late Monday, July 1, 2019 at the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center, Altoona following a short battle with cancer.

     He was born in Roaring Spring, son of Rosella (Albright) Furry and the late Jay W. Furry.  On August 14, 1965 he married Virginia M. Connelly in Staten Island, NY.

     Surviving are his beloved wife of 53 years; his mother of Roaring Spring; two daughters: Gina Albright and Gail Helsel both of Roaring Spring; a son Gerald R. Albright Jr. (wife, Bobbi) of Martinsburg; and three grandsons: David (DC) Helsel and Thad and Brady Albright.

     Gerald was a 1959 graduate of Roaring Spring High School and also was a U.S. Navy veteran serving from 1960 until 1969 with the Mediterranean Fleet, attaining the rank of Quartermaster.

     He retired as a machine operator from PPG Industries, Tipton in February 2003 and also was a member and past commander of the Murray Appleman American Legion Post 147, Roaring Spring.

     Gerald loved spending time with his family and also enjoyed metal detecting and traveling to Rocky Gap, MD and Atlantic City, NJ.

     At the request of the deceased there will be no services.
