Eva Jane Allender, 84, resident of the Hollidaysburg Lutheran Home formerly of Williamsburg, passed away Wednesday evening at UPMC Altoona following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Williamsburg, daughter of the late Charles V. and Mary Belle (Waite) Delozier. On August 5, 1954 she married Charles L. “Chiz” Allender at the Williamsburg Church of the Brethren. He preceded her in death on January 4, 2002.
Surviving are two daughters: Susie (Larry) Miller of Martinsburg and Donna J. McCall (Mike Hale) of Duncansville; a son, Jeffrey D. (Denise) of Williamsburg; five grandchildren: Travis (Brigette) McCall, Rachael (Michael) Neilan, Luther “Luke” Allender, Stephanie Edwards and Donna (Jeremy) Rinker; 9 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Ralph “Lefty”(Jeanette) of Iowa City, Iowa, William (Kay) of Tyrone and David (Connie) of Wooster, OH.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Lois Sturm and Pauline “Polly” Delozier.
Jane was a 1951 graduate of Williamsburg High School and then worked at various places including: Sear’s Roebuck, Altoona, The Williamsburg Children’s Home and Williamsburg Elementary School Cafeteria.
She was a member of Williamsburg Church of the Brethren, Gleaner Sunday School Class and served as the church secretary for many years. Jane was also a member of the women’s auxiliary at the Bonner-Sollenberger American Legion Post 456 and the former Williamsburg VFW Memorial Post 6086.
Jane loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and also enjoyed collecting bells and figurines.
Friends will be received from 5-8pm, Friday, December 29, 2017 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg and from 10 am until the 11 am funeral service, Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Williamsburg Church of the Brethren, Mr. David Cadle officiating. Private interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
The family prefers memorial contributions in memory of Jane be given to Williamsburg Church of the Brethren memorial fund, 529 W. Third St., Williamsburg, PA 16693.
