     D. Rosella Walter, 90, Martinsburg passed away Sunday afternoon at her son’s home in rural Martinsburg.

     She was born in rural Martinsburg, daughter of the late Clair L. and Orpha Mae (Bush) Baker.  On April 1, 1950 she married Donald E. “Tip” Walter in Curryville.  He preceded her in death on September 25, 2005.

     Surviving are 2 sons: Dennis L. (wife, P.J.) of rural Martinsburg and Allen R. of Holly Spring, NC; a daughter, Pamela A. Mapes (husband, Douglas) of Milton; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; a sister, V. Marlene Goldsberry of Milton; and a brother, Wayne R. Baker of Martinsburg.

     She was preceded in death by an infant grandson and two brothers: Robert and Sonny Baker.

     Rosella was a graduate of Martinsburg High School and lifetime member of Curryville Church of the Brethren, where she served in women’s ministry and as a deacon. 

     She was primarily a homemaker who also worked at various places throughout the cove.  Rosella loved spending time with her family, especially her grand and great-grandchildren.  She also enjoyed working with flowers, crocheting and baking.

     Friends will be received from 10:30am until the noon, funeral service, Friday, December 8, 2017 at Curryville Church of the Brethren, Pastor H. Lloy Blattenberger officiating.  Private interment will be held at Diehl’s Crossroads Cemetery, rural Martinsburg.

     The family prefers memorial contributions in memory of Rosella be given to the Martinsburg Community Library, 201 S. Walnut St., Martinsburg, PA 16662
