Clayton E. Shriver

July 22, 1934    June 20, 2018

      Clayton E. Shriver, 83, of rural Martinsburg, passed away Wednesday morning, June 20, 2018 at UPMC Altoona after a brief illness. 

     He was born in Martinsburg, son of the late Elvin R. and Beulah L. (Smith) Shriver.  On October 10, 1955 he married Doris J. Imler in Kansas City, MO.

     Surviving are his beloved wife of 62 years residing in rural Martinsburg; a daughter, Deborah K. Shriver of Roaring Spring; a son-in-law, Brad W. Logue of Woodbury; five grandchildren: Adam Shriver of Roaring Spring, Onjoli L. Boyd of rural Roaring Spring, Nadia N. Logue and Sophia L. Logue both of Woodbury and Joss M. Logue of Belton, TX; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Samuel D. Shriver of Clappertown.

     He was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda L. Logue; a great-grandson, Elijah William Steele, and two sisters: Doris Jane Shriver and Mary Lois Wakefield.

     Clayton was a 1953 graduate of Morrisons Cove High School, where he received many FFA awards, including the coveted American Farmer.  He worked for many years as a poultry farmer in rural Martinsburg and also owned and operated Shriver’s Flea Market and drove a school bus for the Spring Cove School District.

     The will be no public viewing and a private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.

     Memorial contributions in memory of Clayton may be given to your favorite local charity.
