Betty Irene “Gram” Imler
October 5, 1935 – May 22, 2019
Betty Irene “Gram” Imler, 83, passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 22, 2019, at UMPC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh.
She was born in Ore Hill, rural Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Irvin H. and Mabel G. (Holsinger) Seymour. On July 25, 1953, she married John A. Imler in Winchester, VA and he preceded her in death on October 10, 1985.
Surviving are a daughter, Stacey S. Imler of Roaring Spring; three sons: Mark A. (Vicki I) of Stuarts Draft, VA, Doug A. of Martinsburg, and Brian L. “Boob” (Vickie II) of Roaring Spring; two grandchildren: Craig A. (Tracy) Imler of Staunton, Virginia; Kayla Ann Imler of Roaring Spring; two great-grandchildren: Jordan and Reagan Imler residing in Virginia with their mom, Christy; a sister, Florence Dibert of Beaverdale; a brother, David Seymour in Alabama; three friends and traveling buddies: Nancy Graffis, Cindy Henson, and Wilma Walters; two beloved dogs: Izzy and Shadow; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and family.
She was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Brian James Imler and a sister, Sylvia McElroy.
Betty attended Waterside Church of the Brethren and retired from the Cove Shoe Factory, Martinsburg after 15 years of service.
She loved spending time with her family, attending yard sales and also enjoyed sitting on the front porch swing with a cup of coffee.
At Gram’s request there will be no viewing or funeral service. However family and friends are invited from noon until 3pm, Sunday, May 26, 2019 to visit with her family at (Gram’s House) 214 Jaspar Lane, Roaring Spring, PA 16673. Private inurnment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg at a later date. Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc. Martinsburg.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in memory of Betty can be given to Central PA Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA 1602 or Mending Hearts Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 97, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
