Violet M. Blontz

Violet M. Blontz, 83, Williamsburg, passed away Thursday evening at UPMC Altoona.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Roland E. and Julia Gladys-Arila (Lear) Luke. On August 19, 1952, she married Mylin E. Blontz Sr., who preceded her in death on January 10, 1975.
Surviving are a daughter, Betty (Robert) Aurandt of Williamsburg; a son, Mylin “Ed” Blontz Jr. (Cindy) of Duncansville; 3 granddaughters: Loranne Keithley(Dwayne), Latricia, and Bobbie Jo Detwiler (Josh); 5 great-grandchildren: Jenna & Jesse Kephart, Toby Cisney, Shelby Aurandt, and Robin Detwiler; a great-great grandson, Easten Cisney; 2 brothers: James D. (Arlene) of Murfreesboro, TN and Richard D. “Rick” (Nancy) of Williamsburg; a sister, Judy (Daryl) Cole of Williamsburg; and her companion’s children: Cindy (Arthur) White, Archard T. Jr. (Dee), Dr. Thomas (Jane), Sandy (Hervey) Hann, Susan Reck and Jennifer (Corey) Wagner.
She was preceded in death by a son, Russell E; 8 siblings: Roland E. Jr., Dorothy E. Bowser, Samuel J., Margie J. Bowser, Mary Alice Grubb, Betty J. Luke, Charles E., and Ruth E. Lykens; and a long-time companion, Archard T. Uttley.
Violet formerly worked as a waitress at Diner 22 in Alexandria.
She was a member of Grace Pointe Community Church, Williamsburg.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, reading her Bible and doing word searches.
Friends will be received from 5-8 pm, Sunday, February 11, 2018, at the John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg. Friends will also be received from 10 am until the 11 am funeral service, Monday, February 12, 2018, at the Grace Pointe Community Church, Williamsburg, Bishop Dennis J. Pruitt officiating. Private internment at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona.
The family prefers memorial contributions be given to Grace Pointe Community Church, 815 Yellow Springs Dr., Williamsburg, PA 16693.
