Selma M. Fornwalt

     Selma M. Fornwalt, 91, rural Williamsburg, went home to be with her Lord, Thursday at her residence following a brief illness.

     She was born in Gallitzin, daughter of the late Clem J. and Dorothy (Stehley) Burkey.  On September 6, 1945 she married Raphael C. Fornwalt in Cumberland, MD.  He passed away on September 23, 1991.

     Surviving are 2 beloved God-sons: Brad J. Norris and Jerry L Benito both of Williamsburg; several nieces, nephews and many special friends in Williamsburg.

     She was the last of her immediate family being preceded in death by a brother, David; and 3 sisters: Margie Sabelli, Bernice Baudoux and Belva Dibonis.

     Selma was a longtime member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Williamsburg where she had served as a lectern and council member.  She also co-coordinated the American Red Cross blood mobiles that where held at the church and retired as a shift supervisor in 1978 from the Altoona Shoe Company.

     She enjoyed playing bingo, crossword puzzles, watching Pittsburgh Pirate Baseball and was an avid reader.

     Friends will be received from 2-4pm, Sunday, November 5, 2017 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg, where a vigil for the deceased will be recited at 2 pm.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am, Monday, November 6, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Williamsburg, Father Dennis Kurdziel and Father Matthew Reese celebrants.  Private entombment will be held at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, Altoona.

     In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in memory of Selma may be given to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Memorial Fund, 628 W. First St., Williamsburg, PA 16693.
