Mary Fae (Keith) Butler, 90, Martinsburg, passed away early Friday morning at Homewood at Martinsburg.
She was born in Roaring Spring daughter of the late Raymond and Carrie (Kagarise) Keith. On January 1, 1949 she married William Henry Butler Jr. in Roaring Spring and he preceded her in death on November 26, 1957. Then on December 24, 1959, Fae married Gene Marlin Butler in Roaring Spring and he preceded her in death on December 9, 2014.
Surviving are 5 daughters: Beverly A. Kennedy (John) of Curryville, Donna L. Shultz (Clarence) of Richmond, VA, Mary E. “Midge” Redinger (Keith) of rural Martinsburg, Erla Michael (David) of Martinsburg and Cindy A. Stearns (David) of Madison, VA; 2 sons: Harold W. “Hud” (Renee) of rural Martinsburg and Lonn (Lorraine) of Richmond, VA; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth Keith of Martinsburg; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Barry Lee Butler; a sister, Gladys Bollman; and 4 brothers: infant Donald, Fred, Elmer and George.
Fae was a 1944 graduate of Morrisons Cove High School and in 1947 received her associate degree in nursing from The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
She was a longtime, active member of Martinsburg Church of God and also a member of the Red Hat Society and volunteered at The Village at Morrisons Cove.
Fae retired as a registered nurse in 1992 from the Morrison Cove Home with 25 years of service and had previously worked at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring.
She loved serving her Lord, spending time with her family and also enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, crocheting and knitting.
Friends will be received from 5-8pm, Monday, June 12, 2017 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg. A funeral service will be held at 11am, Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at the Martinsburg Church of God, Pastor Nathan Starr and Pastor Mark Lingenfelter officiating. Private interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
