Mary I. Butler, 70, Williamsburg, passed away early Friday morning at UPMC Altoona following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Hollidaysburg, daughter of the late Miles C. and Helen G. (Frederick) Clark. On September 29, 1962 she married Gary L. “Pap” Butler in Altoona and he preceded her in death on September 4, 1998.
Surviving are a daughter, Lynnea A. Becker (Sam) of rural Williamsburg; a son, Gary L. Jr. of Williamsburg; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 5 sisters: Pauline Servello of Lakemont, Lois Brindle of Hollidaysburg, Margaret Edwards of Clappertown, and Blackie Brindle and Blondie Chamberlain of Williamsburg.
She was preceded in death by 2 sons: Kevin B. on November 30, 1992 and Duane A. on April 6, 1988; a grandson, Alan Butler; a sister, Ethel McIntyre; and 4 brothers: Howard, Robert, Paul and Dan.
Mary loved watching local softball and little league baseball games and also enjoyed helping and taking care of others.
Friends will be received from 2-5pm, Sunday, April 23, 2017 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg. A funeral service will be held at 11am, Monday, April 24, 2017 at the funeral home, Pastor Vaughn R. Kanagy and Mr. David Cadle officiating. Interment will be held at Presbyterian Cemetery, Hollidaysburg.
The family prefers memorial contributions be given to Williamsburg Youth Baseball League, P.O. Box 144, Williamsburg, PA 16693.
