     Kenneth L. Shildt, 79, Indiana, PA passed away unexpectedly Saturday afternoon at his residence.

     He was born in Philipsburg, son of the late Leroy F. and Lucy Ruth (Webb) Shildt.

     Surviving are his wife, Joyce (Miller) Shildt; four children: Kenneth II (Denise), Jayme, Kevin (Lora) and Jill; three grandchildren: Michael, Megan and Melina Shildt; a sister-in-law, Adair Shildt of Tyrone; a brother-in-law, George Schneider of Framingham, MA; and many nieces and nephews.

     He was preceded in death by three brothers: Homer, Bernard “Doc” and Leroy Jr. “Sonny”; three sisters: Dora Swartz, Kelly Kaspick and Helen “Sweetie” Schneider; and his in-laws: Lloyd and Ethel Miller.

     Ken began teaching at the Altoona High School where he spent four years.  He retired in 1999 from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania as Chairman of the MIS & Decision Sciences Department and Professor Emeritus of the School of Business.

     He was a member of Indiana Church of the Brethren, many professional, service, community and charitable organizations.  Ken also was a coach for more than 20 years for the Indiana Little League program.

     Friends will be received from 5-8 pm, Thursday, January 4, 2018 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.  A funeral service will be held at 11 am, Friday, January 5, 2018 at the funeral home, Pastor David Ulm officiating.  Private interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
