Clyde E. Smith

Clyde E. Smith, 82, rural Martinsburg, passed away Monday afternoon, at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Martinsburg, son of the late N. Kathryn Kensinger. On November 11, 1956, he married Mildred C. Corle at Clover Creek Church of the Brethren. She preceded him in death on August 8, 2005.
Surviving are two daughters: Carol Sue Pearson (Stephen) of Cape May, NJ and Connie L. Holes (Robert Jr.) of Roaring Spring; and a brother-in-law, Robert Larry Corle of Levittown.
He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, L. Raymond Corle.
Clyde was a 1954 graduate of Morrison Cove High School, Martinsburg. He retired with 31 years of service from New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co., Roaring Spring, where he worked as a mechanic, drove cement truck and worked on a black top crew.
He was a member of the Clover Creek Church of the Brethren and enjoyed bowling, gardening, old westerns, listening to classic country music and tinkering around his home.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 pm, Thursday, March 8, 2018, at the John K. Bolger Funeral Home, Martinsburg, and from 10 until the 11 am funeral service, Friday, March 9, 2018, at Clover Creek Church of the Brethren, Pastor Barbara Hammond officiating. Interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
