     Carolyn A. Merritts, 88, a resident of Hillview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Altoona, formerly of Martinsburg, passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 10, 2017, at UPMC Altoona.

     She was born in rural Williamsburg, daughter of the late Jacob Winfield and Fannie (Simpson) Kifer.

     Surviving are a daughter, Leoda M. Weyandt (Richard) of rural Williamsburg; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty L. Lynn of Martinsburg.

     She was preceded in death by a son, Robert S. Merritts; 4 sisters: Grace L. Smith, Mary E. Brantner, Levada C. Lower, and C. Lenora Dively; and 10 brothers: Sheldon K., Willis E., Roy A., Charles E. “Boosie”, Lloyd G., Paul T., James W., Clarence K., Gerald C., and Richard L.

     Carolyn was employed for 20 years in Quakertown, PA, and had previously worked at US Envelope, Williamsburg. She attended both Royer and Mines United Methodist churches, and loved listening to music and taking pictures.

     A public graveside service will be held at 5:30 pm, Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Oreminea Cemetery, rural Williamsburg, Pastor Gordie Trimer officiating.  Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.
