Anna G. (Malone) Shriver

Anna G. Shriver, 93, Martinsburg, formerly of Roaring Spring passed away Saturday, peacefully into her heavenly home with Jesus at Homewood at Martinsburg where she resided the last 18 years.
She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Jesse Warren and Edith (Appleman) Malone. On March 7, 1941 she married Cletus Frye Shriver at the parsonage of the First Church of the Brethren, Roaring Spring. He preceded her in death on January 11, 2003.
Surviving are two children: Dale E. Shriver and wife, Ann of Fort Myers, FL and Carrol A. Miller and husband, Bob of Martinsburg; six grandchildren: Robert Miller, Michael Miller, Lesly Miller-Jacobs, Dale Eugene Shriver II, Daniel Shriver and Kelly Daniels; nine great-grandchildren: Justin Miller, Chelsea Miller, Kevin Miller, Katie Miller, Adam Miller, Calvin Daniels, Reagan Daniels, Austin Koch and Zeth Koch; three great-great-grandchildren: Daniel Ege Shriver, Elli Grace Miller and Torrin Koch; also surviving are many nieces and nephews; and a sister, Bette Frye of Homewood.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Charles, Jesse “Bud” and Ted; and five sisters: Gladys Dodson, Ruth Hanks, Emma Walter, Mary Thornton and Florence Malone.
Anna and her husband, Cletus were the owners of Shriver’s Greenhouse and Floral Shop in Roaring Spring from 1953 until their retirement in 1988. She was a member of the Morrison Cove High School Class of 1942 and a 1957 graduate of Bill Kistler’s American Floral Art School, Chicago, IL.
She was a 50 year plus member of Eastern Star Chapter 121, Daughters of the Nile, Dorcus Temple No. 129 and American Legion Auxiliary.
Anna loved floral designing, bowling, playing cards, baking and caring for her family and friends. She especially loved her entire extended Homewood Community family, who would stop to visit her.
At the request of the deceased there will be no viewing; however friends will be received from 1:30pm until the 3pm memorial service, Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at the Bice Memorial Chapel at Homewood, Reverend Jerry McCuller Jr. officiating. Private interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
The family prefers memorial contributions be given to Homewood at Martinsburg Benevolent Fund, 437 Givler Dr., Martinsburg, PA 16662.
